Project Green Ball Featured on WCVB Channel 5 Boston Strong Segment

Project Green Ball and its founder Benjamin Soloway were featured on a Boston Strong segment tonight on WCVB Channel 5.  The segment highlighted the sources and mission of the project, as well as the installation of the first tennis ball-based equestrian turf at The Dana Hall School.

Project Green Ball is the largest recycler of tennis balls in the United States.  So far, Project Green Ball has received donations of over 108,000 balls.  When we receive and deliver 200,000 balls to our turf manufacturer partner (IGK Equestrian), they will donate a riding surface to a therapeutic riding program.  Project Green Ball has received numerous grants and awards, including the MassRecycle Institution Innovation award.

In addition to the tennis ball-based turf installed at Dana Hall a second turf was recently installed at EquiCenter, Inc.  EquiCenter, located in Honeoye Falls, NY, fosters the personal growth and individual achievement of people with disabilities, at-risk youth, Veterans, and their families using a wide range of therapeutic equestrian activities.  Project Green Ball facilitated a $10,000 grant from the UPS Foundation to EquiCenter which was used to purchase the ball-based turf for their indoor riding arena.

Project Green Ball is a not-for-profit corporation.  We have applied for 501(c)(3) status.  If you would like to support PGB through donations or volunteer support, please check out the Donate page of our website.
