Nashua Swim & Tennis Club and Project Green Ball Create Tournament Partnership

We are really excited about our new partnership with Nashua Swim & Tennis Club.  If you have played in USTA New England junior tournaments, then you have likely played at NSTC.  NSTC has hosted hundreds, if not thousands, of junior tennis tournaments both on its indoor and outdoor courts.

For the Boys/Girls 12, 14, 16, 18 Level 6 Thanksgiving tournament from November 23-25, 2012, NSTC will donate all balls used at the tournament to Project Green Ball.  Last year over 100 juniors played in this tournament.

NSTC will also host a collection bin during the tournament for any juniors wishing to donate dead balls.  So clean out your basement and bring those dead balls to NSTC the weekend of November 23-25.

The USTA New England annually gives a Sportsmanship Award in honor of the late Herb Schachter, the founder of NSTC.  The award is described on the NSTC website as the Mensch Award.  As noted on the NSTC website, mensch means “a decent, upright, mature, and responsible person. A person of strength and honor.”  NSTC’s involvement with Project Green Ball and its groundbreaking partnership is in keeping with Herb’s legacy.

Project Green Ball welcomes the opportunity to expand this partnership to other tennis clubs in New England.  If you host tournaments and would like to donate your balls to Project Green Ball or if you would like to host a collection bin at your facility, please reach out to us at  We’d love to work with you.
